Not at all. Phichit-kun was the energetic one when we were training in Detroit together, but he outstrips even Phichit-kun by a mile.

[Victor's usual touchy-feely habits and bright smiles make it easy for Yuuri to forget the razor sharpness that those things hide, but he's reminded of it all too well now. Rather than feeling discouraged, Yuuri feels determination flood through him.]

[Admittedly, Victor's phone is silent for a while as Yuuri waits for the other shoe to drop. When it doesn't come, he sits there in shock for another second. Wow, no hidden barbs or anything.]

[Wow another compliment? It both surprises Yuuri and warms him.]

Yurio did really well, too. It's too bad he left so suddenly.

[Though the biggest flood of emotion had, admittedly, been relief that he'd won the challenge, there's also a bit of worry underneath it all. Yuuri can't help but think of that vulnerable expression on Yurio's face as they stood under the waterfall, and wonder what the younger skater had been thinking of at the time.]

Do you think he's doing okay?

He did well, but he will do better with Yakov. You will do better with me.

[the best will win, that's how it goes. He does believe Yuuri can do it.]

Don't worry about him. He tells me I'm dead to him twice a day, he's fine.

[Strangely enough, those words do make him relax, even managing to pull a soft chuckle out of him.]

[He definitely remembers the lukewarm response the audience and Victor had given him after the short program last time. If there's any way he can improve even the feeling of the routine, he'd do it.]
