[Talking on your cell phone while operating a vehicle is against the law for a reason. It's why Tadashi's ignoring the ringtone while going down the street on his moped.
However, most phones aren't mechanically tampered with by one's little brother into a robot either.
The sides of his cell unfold to reveal arms that begin to slap and needle at him.]
Ow! What- Oh, come on! [He answers it to stop being jabbed at.] Are you serious!? Do you know how dangerous it is to-
[Crud.
He looks up from his scolding to see a girl crossing the street and slams on his brakes.] Look out, LOOK OUT!
[He yanks on the handlebars to turn it aside and ends up wiping out in an attempt to avoid hitting her.]
[Being part of a team that jumps into the TV world and battles Shadow monsters on a normal day means that Rise’s got pretty good reflexes, and that’s what saves her now. Reacting to his voice instantly, she jumps out of the way. The moped just barely misses her, and she waits until he comes to a stop before she lays into him.]
Hey! If you’re going to be driving that thing, at least watch where you’re going!
[He eventually spirals to a stop and gets his leg out from under the moped. Road rash hurts, but he's more concerned about her and he stands up making sure to tuck his phone back into his pocket.]
Yeah, I'm fine. [She'd berate him some more--seriously, how dangerous is it to be talking on your phone while driving?--but he looks even worse off than she is.]
[But his helmet tho. Safety first and he puts it back on now that he knows she didn't get hit.]
Well, it's not a good thing. [He can't front that.] But there's something I'm working on, and a physical injury is just the thing I need to test it on.
[This conversation is taking a turn for the surreal, and Rise isn't sure what to make of the whole thing now. A car honking at them brings her back to reality, and she grabs his arm.]
Geez! Let's at least move out of the street first.
[Rise gives him a moment to grab hold of his moped before she starts tugging him toward the sidewalk.]
[ so, remember log ago in asgard when rise said that she would help naegi cook? well, it's high time that he took her up on that offer, so here they are, in the kitchen... this is going to be the worst thing ever ]
[ so today on Proof That There Is No God: somehow, both Teddie and Rise have gotten into a kitchen together, and they've somehow gotten into the idea that they need to prepare a special something for someone (see: Sensei). probably for his birthday. and teddie, having heard that food is a thing people can give on these special days... well, of course he wants to do that. apparently giving food adds a little "heat" to the relationship too, so who better to enlist than Rise Kujikawa, whose food probably makes an active volcano look dormant??
everything is wrong, and sensei is going to regret everything. but he eats grass, so he'll be okay.
teddie, on the other hand, is looking at rise pouring something into a bowl with a minor look of concern. in his bear suit. because that's totally proper cooking gear. ]
Urp... Rise-chan, I don't think you're supposed to add that.
[Seriously, if Senpai could survive eating a grassy science experiment, then he can survive Rise and Teddie's joint cooking efforts.
Or so one would hope.]
Huh? [Rise looks up, still holding the bottle of ghost pepper flakes in one hand.] Why not? I saw someone use this on a cooking show yesterday. It's supposed to add a lot of flavor!
[Hiro Hamada…is bored. He's really, really bored and Tadashi's at nerd school and Aunt Cass is busy downstairs at Lucky Cat and the internet's boring.
Usually when Hiro's bored he has a few ways of combatting it. He either creates, or he destroys. However, all of his ideas are currently at a roadblock that he hasn't managed to get past yet…and he's grounded for a few days thanks to the last bot-fight. He could sneak out, but the last time he tried Tadashi showed up five minutes later and football-carried him back to their room.
Needless to say, it's frustrating.
Leaning back in his chair he glances at the clock on the wall behind him. School should be out by now if he remembers correctly. He's totally not being a nuisance. He just pulls his phone out of his pocket and slowly spins in a circle in his chair while texting the one person he know will answer immediately.]
How you know things are bad: wishing you were still in high school just to have something to do all day. Even Mochi's had a busier day than me and I think he's just sleeping in Aunt Cass's laundry again.
Tell me a story, Rise. It can even be a really boring one but just something. Anythiiing. Bring me news from the outside world.
[School certainly is out, and Rise does answer immediately (hey, she's bored, too, okay), but that doesn't mean Hiro is any less of a punk.
Ever since she's intercepted some older guy when he cornered Hiro in the evening--something about bot fighting? Rise's almost afraid to ask sometimes--they've been texting back and forth. Never underestimate the power of helping someone escape a nasty confrontation through flirting, it seems. It might surprise some people that an idol working to get back into the industry would keep steady contact with someone like Hiro, but Rise's learned not to let these kinds of fateful meetings go to waste.
She grins and sends a text back.]
not evry1 can graduate hi school at 13 geez! r u trying 2 rub it in? (#`д´)ノ
[The first time Rise ever texted Hiro after the night they met, two things had happened.
1.) He groaned really, really loudly at the message that was littered with chatspeak and put the phone down to look at something else.
2.) Tadashi picked up the phone, saw that the text was (obviously) from a girl and proceeded to tease him about it for the next fifteen minutes despite how much Hiro whined and elbowed his older brother in the ribs to get him to stop.
So what if Rise was a girl? All Hiro had to do was look at Tadashi and say "Honey Lemon" to get him to stop and that was that.
Since then the pair of them have exchanged texts on a fairly regular basis. Maybe not daily but it was pretty close and Hiro had a feeling they were both doing it for similar reasons. They both knew the other would always answer (though truth be told it had taken Hiro a little while to really get in the habit of responding somewhat promptly instead of several hours later...) Likewise some people might be surprised that Hiro could ever get someone like Rise to keep talking to him, but he knew better. She wasn't just some idol. She had a real personality and she actually cared, which was nice. In a weird way she was sort of...sweet? Maybe? He didn't put a whole lot of thought into what Rise actually was, but at least now he could open a text from her without wanting to throw the phone across the room. Instead he just continues to spin in his chair, rolling his eyes fondly as he sends a reply.]
Nooo, I would never do that. How could you even say tha--Rise, what is that? Is that supposed to be an angry guy with a bruise on his face?
And because Tadashi maybe kinda sorta grounded me? Long story but I haven't found the tracking device in my clothes yet so outside's not an option. :(
[Sending emotes? It's really a testimony of how far he's come.]
[She actually snickers when she sees his unflattering description of the emote, but being the regular emote user that she is, Rise feels a need to defend it anyway.]
xcuse u! mayb if u paid more attn to wat evry1 else is doing u would kno wat it is!
u need 2 keep up with the times hiro ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ
Edited (rude it cut off my emoji) 2015-01-20 02:35 (UTC)
Yeah but if I paid attention to what everyone else is doing I wouldn't be getting anything else done, you know that. Besides I've got you to keep me up with the times or whatever.
Yeahhhh...Tadashi overdoes it sometimes. [Well Hiro if you stopped sneaking off to go bot-fighting this wouldn't be an issue you little twerp.] He worries way too much and...well, let's just say when I tried to leave Tadashi cornered me in the garage, picked me up, tucked me under his arm and carried me up the stairs. Talk about overbearing.
[But he knows it's just Tadashi's nature and he still loves his older brother, really he does! Just...jeeze.]
[Please, Hiro, she can see straight through you. She knows he cares about Tadashi a lot, going by the way he talks about him. Still, being stuck at home with a tracking device is no fun.]
uh huh sure. i guess u didnt do NEthing 2 deserve the tracking device
so u cant leave the house but u can get visitors rite?
Nope not a thing. It's all Tadashi's fault. [Let him pretend he's a big kid Rise gosh. He's about ready to text that maybe he can have visitors if they're really quiet and bring him some candy but he gets the second text. If he wasn't so mature, he'd send her a keysmash. Instead...]
OH COME ON! That's not fair, Mochi's not good company when I'm bored.
[Really Hiro all you have to say is "I'm sorry, please come over." But apparently that's too difficult.]
mayb if u get some treats mochi will b willing 2 play with u
[Of course, as she's typing all this, she's already ordering some red bean taiyaki for the two of them to share. She just wants him to sweat a little bit more.]
I give you male Asami

Your leg! You're the one who's hurt here, not me.

Not his smartest moment.]
Oh, this? [He looks down to find his slacks ripped and faint bits of blood coming through the red irritated part of his skin.]
Wow. Okay. [He tests shifting his weight and winces.] It's okay. This is actually a good thing.
[He carefully turns around to get his moped back on its wheels.]
But really, I'm so sorry.

[Rise's starting to seriously wonder if he hit his head somewhere in this whole mess and she just missed it happening.]
Never mind that. Maybe we should take you to the hospital and get you checked instead.

Well, it's not a good thing. [He can't front that.] But there's something I'm working on, and a physical injury is just the thing I need to test it on.

Ow, ow. Alright, alright. I will.
[Once they get to the safe surface of the pavement he holds out his hand.]
Thanks. I'm glad I didn't hit you. I'm Tadashi.

So, uh, what are we making today?
RIP naegi :'|
You should pick something! I got a bunch of groceries from the market earlier so that means we can make whatever we want.

It's all yours, Naegi-kun!
