[School certainly is out, and Rise does answer immediately (hey, she's bored, too, okay), but that doesn't mean Hiro is any less of a punk.
Ever since she's intercepted some older guy when he cornered Hiro in the evening--something about bot fighting? Rise's almost afraid to ask sometimes--they've been texting back and forth. Never underestimate the power of helping someone escape a nasty confrontation through flirting, it seems. It might surprise some people that an idol working to get back into the industry would keep steady contact with someone like Hiro, but Rise's learned not to let these kinds of fateful meetings go to waste.
She grins and sends a text back.]
not evry1 can graduate hi school at 13 geez! r u trying 2 rub it in? (#`д´)ノ
[The first time Rise ever texted Hiro after the night they met, two things had happened.
1.) He groaned really, really loudly at the message that was littered with chatspeak and put the phone down to look at something else.
2.) Tadashi picked up the phone, saw that the text was (obviously) from a girl and proceeded to tease him about it for the next fifteen minutes despite how much Hiro whined and elbowed his older brother in the ribs to get him to stop.
So what if Rise was a girl? All Hiro had to do was look at Tadashi and say "Honey Lemon" to get him to stop and that was that.
Since then the pair of them have exchanged texts on a fairly regular basis. Maybe not daily but it was pretty close and Hiro had a feeling they were both doing it for similar reasons. They both knew the other would always answer (though truth be told it had taken Hiro a little while to really get in the habit of responding somewhat promptly instead of several hours later...) Likewise some people might be surprised that Hiro could ever get someone like Rise to keep talking to him, but he knew better. She wasn't just some idol. She had a real personality and she actually cared, which was nice. In a weird way she was sort of...sweet? Maybe? He didn't put a whole lot of thought into what Rise actually was, but at least now he could open a text from her without wanting to throw the phone across the room. Instead he just continues to spin in his chair, rolling his eyes fondly as he sends a reply.]
Nooo, I would never do that. How could you even say tha--Rise, what is that? Is that supposed to be an angry guy with a bruise on his face?
And because Tadashi maybe kinda sorta grounded me? Long story but I haven't found the tracking device in my clothes yet so outside's not an option. :(
[Sending emotes? It's really a testimony of how far he's come.]
[She actually snickers when she sees his unflattering description of the emote, but being the regular emote user that she is, Rise feels a need to defend it anyway.]
xcuse u! mayb if u paid more attn to wat evry1 else is doing u would kno wat it is!

Yeah but if I paid attention to what everyone else is doing I wouldn't be getting anything else done, you know that. Besides I've got you to keep me up with the times or whatever.
Yeahhhh...Tadashi overdoes it sometimes. [Well Hiro if you stopped sneaking off to go bot-fighting this wouldn't be an issue you little twerp.] He worries way too much and...well, let's just say when I tried to leave Tadashi cornered me in the garage, picked me up, tucked me under his arm and carried me up the stairs. Talk about overbearing.
[But he knows it's just Tadashi's nature and he still loves his older brother, really he does! Just...jeeze.]
[Please, Hiro, she can see straight through you. She knows he cares about Tadashi a lot, going by the way he talks about him. Still, being stuck at home with a tracking device is no fun.]
uh huh sure. i guess u didnt do NEthing 2 deserve the tracking device
so u cant leave the house but u can get visitors rite?
Nope not a thing. It's all Tadashi's fault. [Let him pretend he's a big kid Rise gosh. He's about ready to text that maybe he can have visitors if they're really quiet and bring him some candy but he gets the second text. If he wasn't so mature, he'd send her a keysmash. Instead...]
OH COME ON! That's not fair, Mochi's not good company when I'm bored.
[Really Hiro all you have to say is "I'm sorry, please come over." But apparently that's too difficult.]
mayb if u get some treats mochi will b willing 2 play with u
[Of course, as she's typing all this, she's already ordering some red bean taiyaki for the two of them to share. She just wants him to sweat a little bit more.]
You're the worst friend ever. Leaving me alone to rot away in my room without company. Or food. Or any kind of stimulating brain activity and I think Mochi's hiding because he saw me messing with the rocket boots again.
Rocket Cat It's an awesome idea and who wouldn't love a flying cat? Mochi doesn't count.
[He reads that text and he's getting up from his chair, crossing the room to open the window and peer down into the street. He stops, clearly thinking something through before he goes back to texting her because yelling will alert Aunt Cass and that's also a bad idea.]
How good is your balance? Because I think I have an idea.
[Anyone more normal would probably be a lot more concerned, but it's Rise, the girl who still thinks seriously about pulling the fire alarm just to see what happens. Besides, she always likes seeing what Hiro comes up with when he's productive.]
...and soon the window opens and out of it comes a large silver disc gently floating down to the ground before hovering at about the right height for Rise to climb on. The circumference of the disc is large enough to comfortably accommodate Rise if she's crouching and also any items she may have brought with her. Tiny propulsors are stuck to the underside of the disc keeping it in the air but it seems pretty damn solid.
Are you amazed? Because Hiro's not, he made that last year and hasn't had a chance to really use it. No other text comes from the boy but the message is pretty clear.
[So on that trouble scale, it's probably a solid 7, depending on where this is going, but that doesn't seem to stop Rise.
Making sure the food's secure, Rise drops the bag onto the disc first before she climbs on. Then, she grabs hold of the sides. Her balance might be pretty good, but she isn't leaving this to chance.]
[If it's any consolation, Rise's probably the only one crazy enough to actually trust a homemade hoverboard, but it probably helps that it was Hiro's. He opens the window a little wider and backs away so that once it's level with his windowsill she can crawl right in.
By the time that happens Hiro's already moved into the furthest corner of the windowseat, holding the control in his hand as he guides the board back into the room. It's a typical teenage boy's room but it's more evident than usual that Hiro hasn't been outside in a while. Clothes are thrown everywhere, papers are scattered and crumpled around his desk, his computer's on and then there's the tiny pristine area that belongs to Tadashi. Once Rise's in the room though he just grins at her, already honing in on the bag of food.]
What, you've never been in a boy's room before? That's hard to believe. [It's not meant as an insult of course. It's Rise. Risette, even. She probably has people after her all the time and it's still a mystery why she chooses to hang out with him instead of someone who can help her get her career back on track but…eh. He doesn't think about it really.
Instead, he's snatching the bag, but there's a grateful look shot her way as he opens it and pulls out a piece of the taiyaki before biting off the fish-shaped head. That's how he's always eaten the treats. There's just something satisfying about it. He's still chewing but he responds around the food as he crawls off of the windowseat and retreats toward his computer. At least his bed's clean along with the beanbag chair if she chooses to sit.]
Yeah but he's not here…seems kinda shameful to let fresh taiyaki go to waste because we're waiting for Tadashi. Maybe we should just split it. [He swallows what's in his mouth.] Thanks though, you didn't have to do that. [But he definitely prefers the offerings tyvm.]
Edited (notepad autocorrected it :|) 2015-01-22 01:52 (UTC)
Senpa--Souji-senpai? [He's heard a little about the guy from Rise in their talks. At this rate he knows a handful about all of her other friends, enough to know that Souji Seta's some kind of superhuman so really that doesn't surprise him.] He probably doesn't spend a lot of time in there does he?
[He watches her from the corner of his eye for a minute and when she settles on the beanbag chair he turns back to his monitor, one hand navigating the mouse and one hand offering the bag to Rise. Hiro. Hiro get up and offer her the bag what's the matter with you. Truthfully he's pretty much just used to Tadashi grabbing things from him if he really wants them so this isn't any different.
Speaking of Tadashi...he frowns slightly even as he clicks through a website revealing a city map and several red, blinking locations. Bot-fights.]
He spends most of the day at school and in his lab. [Hiro's never been but he's seen the building once or twice.] Usually he's home by dinner but lately he's been working really late on some project. I have no idea what it is though, I think he's trying to keep it a surprise or something. [Granted, Hiro's pretty focused on his own agenda of keeping himself entertained so he hasn't really done proper snooping. He's noticed the little red suitcase Tadashi transfers back and forth some nights but beyond that? Nada.]

[Almost scarily so, actually. Rise would bet Kanji and Yosuke's rooms are way messier, like Hiro's is, if she ever saw them.
She sits down on the bean bag chair, dropping her purse onto the floor.]
It's okay, I was already there anyway. Your brother's always busy, huh? I never see him around when I see you.
