[There's a new treat Hunk's made in the kitchen. He'd left from helping Pidge the evening before take apart--quite literally, thank goodness he could actually pop these things open--a strange piece of galra tech they'd taken from the last trip, and while they've had the afternoon free the next day, he knows she hasn't slept, or even left that room.
While Shiro and Coran seemed worried about this, Hunk just shrugs it off; after all, this isn't the first time Pidge has lost track of time slaving over technology. He'd already moved in a pillow and extra blankets into the room for such cases, he can only hope this poor kid at least considered a powernap. But, seeing as he hadn't seen Pidge at breakfast that morning too, he opts to go find the littlest paladin, with a few things in tow.

Then, next to it, a product of Hunk's own experimentation--two small cups of different goo, one a strange brownish red, the other almost bluish; the blue one is sweet, almost like cake, but the brownish one? To him, and to his taste-tester Keith, it tasted a lot like peanut butter. But now he knows it needs to pass the expert of that category.
He lets himself back in, looking around.] Hey Pidge, you work up an appetite yet?

[What kind of answer is that? Hunk just sighs, figuring it means she's been at this for quite a while. He knows she's focused on... whatever she's stopped with, so he figures he'll offer his services until she breaks through. Setting the tray next to her, he kneels down.]

[Earth. How long has it been since she and the other paladins first left in the blue lion? Nearly a year? As busy as they've all been fighting the Galra, one fight after another, after another, it feels like eons ago that she's stood on the streets of a busy, human city.
Pidge raises the plastic cup to her lips, savoring the taste of pumpkin spice latte. It's a good thing she'd equipped the lions with the cloaking device before they landed here--she doesn't think the Garrison would be too happy about seeing five of the lions in the sky after their last run in with one.
She spots Keith just a few feet away and wonders if she should approach; the odd look on his face is what makes up her mind.]

[Hunk just fixes her with a displeased look, doubly so at the sound of her rumbling stomach. So she is hungry, which isn't even a surprise, but now she's at least aware of it.]

If I did then I would go visit them, but the only person I was sort of really close to is Shiro. But that was because of the Garrison.

I guess that's true. Everything I've ever made purposefully changes. If it can change forms though that means the core itself has to be magic. Do we know what they even run on?

Touché. I'm surprised Coran and Allura didn't try to get us all to share things about ourselves as an icebreaker, back when we were still struggling to form Voltron. If the castle was dormant though it probably wasn't using that much power from the crystals, but that's not a bad guess. I don't know a lot about crystal fragments but it's worth studying anyway. Has anyone ever said what'll happen if the crystal stops working?
