[Earth. How long has it been since she and the other paladins first left in the blue lion? Nearly a year? As busy as they've all been fighting the Galra, one fight after another, after another, it feels like eons ago that she's stood on the streets of a busy, human city.
Pidge raises the plastic cup to her lips, savoring the taste of pumpkin spice latte. It's a good thing she'd equipped the lions with the cloaking device before they landed here--she doesn't think the Garrison would be too happy about seeing five of the lions in the sky after their last run in with one.
She spots Keith just a few feet away and wonders if she should approach; the odd look on his face is what makes up her mind.]
You're not visiting anyone? [Allura and Coran had given permission for everyone to visit their families--discreetly, of course. Hunk and Lance had immediately jumped on the chance, and yet... here she and Keith were. Wandering the city instead of doing the same.]
[he's caught off guard by the question as he looks over at pidge.] Uh, well. No? You remember that shack we all piled into before we even left Earth? That was my home after getting kicked out of the Garrison. I don't.... [he frowns. there's no really good way of phrasing this, so.] I don't really remember my parents? If I did then I would go visit them, but the only person I was sort of really close to is Shiro. But that was because of the Garrison.
[What about before the Garrison, Pidge wonders. Inquisitive as she is, though, she's not about to pry when Keith has a habit of keeping to himself as it is. She'd hated it when Hunk had gone snooping around in her memories and her belongings, after all.]
You never really talk about yourself. [Pidge says, after a second. It makes sense, in a way. Keith's never really missed Earth the way Hunk and Lance have. Although, now that he's brought up the Garrison, Pidge recalls a few questions she hasn't had a chance to ask before. Ever curious, she tilts her head as she studies him.]
How'd you get kicked out of the Garrison, anyway? All they would tell us is that there were some disciplinary issues.
I just haven't had a need to talk about myself? And no one's asked me anything, so? [he shrugs. he's not the type who likes to reminisce on the past. to him the past stays in the past, theres no use in bringing it up or thinking about it. unless he's asked about it.]
That's basically it. I felt the way they handled the Kerberos mission was done in poor taste. We both know that Shiro is a good pilot, he'd never purposefully do anything to botch up a mission. Especially when it involves flying a space craft into space.
Touché. I'm surprised Coran and Allura didn't try to get us all to share things about ourselves as an icebreaker, back when we were still struggling to form Voltron. Would've been easier than chaining us up together when we were eating. Technically. [Her lips twist in a wry smile.] Let's.. not mention that to them, in case they get any ideas.
[Besides, she hasn't exactly been forthcoming with information about herself either. Aside from the fact that she's a girl, of course. A gentler smile touches her lips this time.]
We might have something in common, if that's the case. You got kicked out because of the Kerberos mission, I got banned from the Garrison grounds... [She shrugs.] Neither of us really accepted the explanations they gave us.
