[pidge has been working on her laptop for quite some time, shiro muses. he's been standing, leaning against the couch, glancing over at her work of algorithms and coding for the past 5 minutes--and she hasn't even noticed.]
[any other person (lance) would use this as an opportunity to try and scare her, but shiro is--predictably--impressed.]
[this kind of thing is by no means his forte, more used to the rough work of combat and the precision of piloting, but it has always fascinated him the ease with how some people were able to handle the more science-leaning area of their trade. the holts were exceptionally good at it, in his humble opinion; when matt would open his own laptop to type away, shiro would just stare in awe.]
[pidge rolls a similar reaction out of him.]
Hey, I heard you've been keeping up really late working on your laptop. Don't exhaust yourself too much, alright?
[shiro opts to speak up, however, as he pushes away from the couch. he's fatherly, when it comes down to it--but, with pidge? there's a familiarity that he touches upon similar to how he behaves with keith, even if he's a tad more careful around her.]
[Shiro's voice reaches her, slowly trickling in past her intense focus to pull her from her mental calculations. She tilts her head back to blink at Shiro, then adjusts the glasses that have begun to slip down her nose.]
Don't worry. I'm used to working late. [As if that would be enough to reassure him, not cause more worry. Pidge rolls her shoulders and taps a finger against the laptop's screen.]
You know that cloaking device I used with my lion before? If I double the amount of time the device can run for without recharging, it could give us an edge the next time we run into the Galra. [The grin she gives Shiro is bright, as it usually is when she's tinkering with technology.] Once I figure that out, I can equip the rest of the lions with the device, too.
