[Hey, just because he's a friend doesn't mean she can't tease him to hell and back. Actually, he gets maximum amounts of sass because he's her friend.]
Very open, but you have to back up all your data first. The last time I tried to have a closer look at it, it almost fried my laptop. ヾ(`ヘ´)ノ゙
It definitely has some magic mixed in with the normal tech.
Hilarious. If you ever decide to stop being part of Voltron you should look into stand-up comedy.
[Pidge please. Don't sass at someone equally sassy.]
That wouldn't be too hard, it's what I do before I start messing with our own weapons. Plus it's me...you really think I don't have back-ups of my back-ups? [All joking aside though, he pauses.] Magic though...how do you figure? We could probably tap into that.
I guess that's true. Everything I've ever made purposefully changes. If it can change forms though that means the core itself has to be magic. Do we know what they even run on?
Something tells me it isn't AA batteries. Could be Balmera crystal fragments. The castle was dormant for thousands of years and the crystal they had from before was still working. Those things have a really long shelf life.
If the castle was dormant though it probably wasn't using that much power from the crystals, but that's not a bad guess. I don't know a lot about crystal fragments but it's worth studying anyway. Has anyone ever said what'll happen if the crystal stops working?
It would probably need to be replaced. I'll ask Allura if they have a stash of smaller crystals in the castle. Let's hope they do. It was pretty difficult getting to the Balmera last time.
This is all assuming that's even what the bayards run on. It's still just a hypothesis until we get confirmation.
Even if it's a hypothesis it's something for us to work with. If we could have the smaller crystals we could at least run some tests and see how they work under different circumstances. Think she'd care that I'm messing with them even if I'm not team Voltron?
If I ask how animals can produce crystals I'm not gonna get a real answer, am I.
And anyway I'm kind of used to scary people. But if you're that worried we'll do the small crystals first. Just in case. We can check stuff out in my lab on campus, that'll have better equipment and everything.
Maybe being petrified has something to do with it.
[She's wondered that herself, though she'd had other, more urgent things on her mind when she was actually at the Balmera--things like surviving whatever horrific thing the Galrans sent to attack them.]
OK. I'll bring them over when we make our next stop on Earth. So who's this person that actually got Hiro Hamada worried?
You might be right. I mean they have movies and stuff all the time about people being frozen in time and still functioning. Who knows.
Dude, when you land next time let me introduce you to my friend GoGo and you'll see EXACTLY what I mean. We've been friends for a while and she's still kind of terrifying.

The bayards can change form. That's a pretty big clue right there.

[There's a pause before the next message gets sent.]
Mayyyybe we should test the small crystals first. Allura can be really scary if she wants to be.

You're right. You SHOULD introduce the two of us. You won't regret it. At all.

When you land next I'm introducing you to the whole team, are you kidding? GoGo aside you'd like the rest of them too. That's okay isn't it?
no subject
OF COURSE I want to meet them, duh! And you're showing me the suits and gear while we're at it, too.
