Took a wrong turn somewhere (or is it right?)
[When Yuuri wakes up, he's greeted with a pounding headache, the likes of which he's never had before. Opening his eyes gets him an eyeful of cheerful sunlight that sends him whimpering back under the covers. He tries again a few minutes later, just managing to swing his legs over the side of the bed, wincing the whole time.
He freezes when he finally gets a good look at the room. This is...not his hotel room.
The shock is enough to temporarily push back the discomfort and make him jump to his feet. What happened? Where am I? he wonders, when he comes up empty handed after a quick search of the room for his belongings. One hand running through his hair as his panic steadily rises, Yuuri finally starts toward the door, intent on finding answers.]

Surprising doesn't even cover it. [After a beat, Yuuri chuckles, too.] Yuuko, Nishigori, and their kids would freak out if you showed up in Hasetsu with me. They all actually follow skating, unlike my family.
no subject
Though falling in love with one is a first.
no subject
Well...even if my family doesn't follow skating, they probably feel like they know you anyway. After...after seeing all the posters in my room. [Yuuri stammers a little. It's not something he imagined he would ever be saying to Victor himself to tease him.]
no subject
I want posters of you, I'll have to go on eBay, now.
no subject
E-ehhh? [Victor... buying posters of him. Yuuri just can't wrap his mind around it. He waves his hands in front of him frantically, as if that would actually do anything to stop Victor once his mind's made up.] Ah, you probably won't find much online anyway!
no subject
I don't know, you're bound to have a few out there! Let's see-- Yuuri Katsuki... [you can't stop him now]
no subject
Then, he's distracted again, watching with a certain amount of horror as Victor begins his search for Yuuri posters.]
...did you find anything? [Yuuri presses his hands over his mouth, uncertain if he wants to know the answer or not.]
no subject
I like this one, what does it say? [pushing the phone to Yuuri!]

Oh, I remember this photoshoot. [He murmurs, feeling odd as he stares at his own face on the screen. They'd put him in casual clothes and slicked his hair back in the style he always wore for competition. The photographer's team had taken advantage of the Ice Castle's abundance of natural light, the soft glow of golden hour lending Yuuri a sort of mysterious air as he stared off to the side. It almost looks too good to be him, Yuuri decides, though he supposes it's the photographer's job to make him look better than he actually is.]
It says..."Japan's Ace looks to the future". [He sighs, feeling a prickle of dread at the title. With the way he'd skated in the final, Yuuri's more certain than ever that they'd given that title to the wrong person.]

Ooh, I should get a frame, what are the dimensions? [Yep, Victor is the type to neatly frame a poster, not just throw it onto a wall. He ends up getting derailed, finding some other posters of Yuuri popping up now as "relevant"]
no subject
The other thing, though--] Y-you're framing it?
[Asks the person who has a framed picture of Victor on his desk at home.]

sneaks back in here
Then again... Yuuri glanced at the walls around them, realizing again just how sparse the decorations were.]
I'm... not going to change your mind on this, am I? [Part of him is resigned to this fate already. Eyes landing on one of Makkachin's squeaky toys on the floor nearby, Yuuri gets a sudden burst of inspiration.] Well, um, if you're going to get a poster of me, you should at least balance it out with putting up more pictures of Makkachin and yourself around here.
[It would add a personal touch, so desperately needed in this space, and maybe provide any guests a distraction from that dreaded poster.]
aw yiss <3
We're going to be snowed in, might as well! I have a few framed posters, costumes, and photos just sitting in the garage.

[He's a bit interested in seeing those posters and photos, too.... fueled by his sudden desire to see what Victor's stored away in his garage, Yuuri goes back to eating with renewed vigor.]
Let's see what we have to work with once we finish eating!
no subject
Do you have favorites from my old costumes? I could try and remember where I put them, if you remember any you like. [Victor is forgetful, he doesn't even recall his own costume backlog most of the time, but maybe he can have his memory jogged if Yuuri is such a fan]
no subject
[Yes, even some of the dubious ones that the forums used to argue over. It's Victor's skating that had drawn Yuuri in to begin with, and the skating is still as beautiful no matter what costume Victor's wearing.]
Um, if you're asking about favorites, though... [Yuuri pauses to take a bite of food as he mulls this over.] I...I guess one of mine would be the black one you wore for the Junior World Championships. The one with the mesh and the crystals?
no subject
Even if we don't find it right away, I'm sure you won't mind looking through my back catalog. I have suitcases and suitcases of old skates and costumes here.
...somehow I totally missed that even when re-reading...
Oh! [He perks up.] You're right, it was in the suitcase that fell open. We can see what else you have lying around here, too.
I don't know why I remembered it but I DID
But your fanboy enthusiasm is too cute to not point out.
no subject
Can't really blame me. [Yuuri says, toying with the dwindling pile of rice in his bowl.] There's a lot to fanboy over.
no subject
You're too flattering! I'm prideful enough, you're only fueling the fire.
no subject
It's almost like you want me to find something to complain about.
