[Still laughing like he hasn't done in a while, Jack floats after them, sending a trail of ice on the floor that catches the otter-penguin by surprise and sends it sliding back until it meets Korra's arms.]

[Jack freezes (ha) on the spot, eyes widening as he hears each of her words. No way... wait. This would actually explain things. She's locked up and protected because...]

[That's freaking adorable. Look at her, being so proud of who she is. Accepting it without question, too. Jack smiles at her, but inside he's kinda worried. Nobody should have their future decided like that. She's skipping her childhood...]

[Having fun sounds good to her. There's no one in need of saving right now, and she practiced really hard on her bending this morning, she promises! She totally deserves some play time, right?]

[Korra looks around and then latches onto the nearest otterpenguin with a grin.]

[He walks behind her and hops, pretending to latch on the otterpenguin too, but there's no way he's dropping so much weight on the poor thing - he solves it by floating just a few inches, barely noticeable. He pokes the ground behind them with his staff, and grins at Korra as his free hand lands on her shoulder.]

[He shoots some ice from his staff, sending them on a fast slide on the ice filled with laughter and other otterpenguins running away from them.]

[Korra practically shouts with glee as they shoot across the ice, speed increasing when they come across a slope and begin their downwards journey. The otterpenguin sends snow flying up and spattering on her face sometimes, but she doesn't mind at all.
The rush of wind and ice past them is exhilarating.]

[And that glee is what makes Jack happy as hell. This is super fun, of course, but it's Korra's happiness that really gets him. He uses his staff as some kind of helm, guiding them in all sorts of serpent roads and whirls.
But when a snow bank appears in front of them... he doesn't stop.]

[He crouches behind her, a hand on her shoulder as the other wiggles his fingers to help her with the snow pile shaking. It's slowly coming down, but he wants to leave the big explosion to her.]

[With a soft huff, Korra renews her efforts, and then finally the pile in front of them seems to fly apart, some of the snow landing on top of Jack and Korra as they speed by.
Korra laughs, giddy from success.]
