The grown-ups still have to talk about it... but most likely that will be the case. [He keeps the wind spinning... and just to keep her invested, he has it suddenly reverse direction.]
I have a very busy life at my home. But I'll do my best to come see you again soon, Korra. Is that alright?

Ah, that sounds impressive, Korra!
[How can someone this young be able to learn elemental magic? It's what Sheryl wonders as she scrunches her brows.]
But won't it become dangerous? What if you accidentally burn yourself?
[Because she imagines a little kid making fire out of her hands and it seems like a hazard waiting to happen.]

[Still laughing like he hasn't done in a while, Jack floats after them, sending a trail of ice on the floor that catches the otter-penguin by surprise and sends it sliding back until it meets Korra's arms.]
Be gentle with them at first, they're a bit shy. After you become their friends they'll let you play with you.
[He's learned that the very hard way.]

It is. I don't mind at all. We can keep each other warm.
You'll know. It's not an easy feeling to ignore and if you have to force yourself to do so, you'll know.
See guys? She's great, no need to be afraid.
[Animals always respect spirits of nature, even if it's a crazy case like Jack. The girl doesn't seem to be about to hurt them or anything... besides, there's something about her...
It doesn't matter. They are ready for some games if she really can be gentle. Jack lands next to the pile of cuteness and shows Korra how to pet them.]
Look at that, they wanna be your friends too. Make contact with them, let them get used to your touching and soon they'll let you ride them. Get used to them too, they can be a bit cold.
[Not as much as him, but still.]

[He nods as he takes a step back again to let them pile on Korra. So much cuteness, he wishes he had a camera with him right now.]
Yeah, I do. Animals are better at noticing spirits than people, and every cold place is an obligatory stop for me to take care of winter. But I know you're around here too, I have someone else to visit.

Of course I do. If you want me to.
[Even if she says no, he'll at least sneak around and keep an eye on her. He doesn't like that place, not one bit. That last one comment, though, has him raising his eyebrows. Right, how could he have forgotten something so important!]
You're a bender, huh? What element?
[Please not fire, please not fire, please not fire!!!]

[Jack freezes (ha) on the spot, eyes widening as he hears each of her words. No way... wait. This would actually explain things. She's locked up and protected because...]
...you're the new Avatar, Korra?
[NO WONDER SHE CAN SEE HIM]
...you're the new Avatar, Korra?
[NO WONDER SHE CAN SEE HIM]
[That's freaking adorable. Look at her, being so proud of who she is. Accepting it without question, too. Jack smiles at her, but inside he's kinda worried. Nobody should have their future decided like that. She's skipping her childhood...]
I guess you are, huh. [He ruffles her hair.] Not now, though. Now we are going to have some fun. Ready to ride your first otterpenguin? Choose a new buddy.

I thought you'd never ask.
[He walks behind her and hops, pretending to latch on the otterpenguin too, but there's no way he's dropping so much weight on the poor thing - he solves it by floating just a few inches, barely noticeable. He pokes the ground behind them with his staff, and grins at Korra as his free hand lands on her shoulder.]
Alright, ready? Steady? GO!
[He shoots some ice from his staff, sending them on a fast slide on the ice filled with laughter and other otterpenguins running away from them.]

[And that glee is what makes Jack happy as hell. This is super fun, of course, but it's Korra's happiness that really gets him. He uses his staff as some kind of helm, guiding them in all sorts of serpent roads and whirls.
But when a snow bank appears in front of them... he doesn't stop.]
What do you say, Korra? Think you can bend that out of the way?

[He crouches behind her, a hand on her shoulder as the other wiggles his fingers to help her with the snow pile shaking. It's slowly coming down, but he wants to leave the big explosion to her.]
Good girl, Korra. Now just a little more... concentrate on the snow, you can do it! [He squeezes her shoulder - he sounds like he really believes in her. Because he does.]

Yes, you did! Good job, Korra!
[Now the road is clear, other penguins are joining them in their sliding - it's almost like a race! Jack laughs at them before an idea forms in his mischievous mind.]
How good are you at jumping, kiddo? Because I think all your new buddies deserve some attention from us, don't you agree?
