( sending selfies with a puppy and a wine bottle and his hand over his heart. he's amazing. he's also staring at the selfie that Yuuri has sent back, sighing wistfully. )

I love that man.

( he informs the mixed poodle pup. she wiggles and huffs, resting her head against his chest and giving in yet again to being carried. Viktor doesn't send back a response this time. He's handling a door and getting himself and an armful of alcohol and puppy up the stairs, clomping upward toward the man he loves. He gives up on knocking and instead gently taps the toe of his shoe against the door. )

Yuuri, Makkachin~!

[Immediately, there's a reaction from inside the apartment. Makkachin barks as soon as he hears Viktor's voice, and Yuuri's laughter can be heard even before he pulls the door open.]

Someone missed you.

[He says, his eyes softening when he spies the pup in Viktor's arms. One hand immediately tugs the bottle of alcohol out of Viktor's grasp while the other reaches up to scratch the puppy's ears.]

( there goes the alcohol, and Viktor can't bring himself to object, considering Makkachin is dancing around his legs, sniffing and whuffing. Viktor kneels, bringing Makkachin and the puppy face to face. leaning in, Makkachin gives the puppy a sniff, nuzzling and then jerking back as the puppy barks and squirms in Viktor's arms, attempting to lick Makkachin's face... and bite down on the fur of his muzzle.

Viktor laughs, standing up and striding into the apartment. )

I missed you too, Yuuri.

( he knows Yuuri meant Makkachin, but that's not the point. the point is he gets to tease in equal turn, and he does so with abandon. )

Where should we have her for now? Is the kitchen puppy-safe?

[From his answering grin,Yuuri definitely caught onto Viktor's teasing. He gives the kitchen a brief lookover before nodding.] It should be safe enough. I'll get something to block this section off, though.

[The last thing they want is for the pup to get into anything she's not supposed to. Once Viktor's put her down in the makeshift pen, Yuuri finally tugs him down for a proper greeting kiss.]

( a kiss Viktor lingers in, pulling Yuuri up against him to leave little space between their bodies. he's no less full contact now than he's ever been. the puppy sniffs around her new environment, butting up against the barrier and lifting on her hind legs to look up at the people she can't fully see and yip; Viktor laughs into their kiss, tugging Yuuri away.

Makkachin creeps toward th barrier, sniffing and slowly wagging his tail. )

The puppy's getting jealous.

The puppy will have all the time to explore the rest of the house once she's potty trained. [Yuuri says primly, even as he laughs at the picture Makkachin and the new puppy make.]

We never did figure out what to name her yet. [He loops his arms around Viktor's neck, still smiling fondly up at him.] Vitenka.

[Yes, he knows exactly what he's doing.]

( ah, so he knows he's making Viktor putty in his hands. his eyes light up, breathing in with a happy little gasp before he's burying his head against the side of Yuuri's neck. he's overflowing with happiness for both the use of a name that meant more in his native culture than it ever would to Yuuri, but he loves it so much. his amazing, wonderful Yuuri! )

We decided to leave that up to you, didn't we, Yuuriochka?

Mmm. [Yuuri hums, his expression soft as he takes in Viktor's expression. One hand gently plays with the hair at Viktor's nape, fingers carding through the strands almost absently.]

So Himawari's out for sure?

( his eyes are half closed under Yuuri's ministrations. he hums, lips pulling up in a fond smile. he leans his head forward, resting his forehead against Yuuri's. )

Not if it's the name you feel fits best.

I like it. [A sly sort of smile tugs at his lips now.]

I'm definitely not naming her after anyone that we know, if that's what you're wondering.

[For all his embarrassment earlier, Yuuri's surprisingly blase about making a quip like this now that the teasing's been over and done with.]

Mm, but Yucchan would be such a cute name...

( he has to offer that slight tease all over again (if in a different direction), really, but his eyes draw back to Makkachin watching the puppy over the improvised barrier. )

Then that's her name. We can get it engraved on a tag and have her license registered tomorrow, if we like.
