[Taking down an akuma without Chat Noir at her side was a possibility Ladybug had already thought of, but the reality of it is much harder than she would have expected. She has to keep going, though, and keep the promise she'd made her partner to stay safe while he was handling things in his civilian life.
As Ladybug races across the rooftops, she spies some people on the streets and leaps down.]
You have to get out of here! The akuma's heading this way!
[It's not until the words are out of her mouth that she actually notices what one of them is wearing: an outfit with colors as bright and eyecatching as hers, and a mask to top it all off. She doesn't have time to wonder about it, though. There's a telltale hiss of the akuma's sand on concrete, and Ladybug whirls around to face the threat, putting herself between the akuma and the civilians trying to escape.]

[The ribbons and feathers decorating the akuma's outfit flutter ominously as the dream-sand circles around her almost lazily. Ladybug keeps a wary eye on her, knowing that getting trapped by the sand will instantly put her to sleep.]
[He's almost finished clearing the civilians when he sees her come down to warn them. Ladybug. As if it were possible to miss her in an outfit as garish as hers. (Then again, he's seen pictures of Grayson's first Nightwing uniform and honestly, Ladybug could do a lot worse.) At her warning, he tackles a couple out of the way of a streak of sand that had neared them and he's on his feet again only moments later, quickly accessing the situation.
Sand that puts people to sleep, not original but still highly effective. Tt. He has several explosive batarangs on him but even if the fire in them is hot enough to turn the sand to glass, there would be too much collateral damage. Once the civilians are out of the way, he makes his way to the roof in seconds, using the vantage point to try and figure out a plan.
His eyes fall on a fire hydrant and he smiles. Not a permanent solution, but it could work long enough for her to do her....whatever it was that she did. Magic thing. Whatever.]
Ladybug! [He knows she'll have questions and those can come after. For now he nods his head in the direction of the ground.] I have an idea. [He doesn't wait to see if she'll follow, jumping down and using a variety of tools from his belt and a short makeshift hose to get the hydrant spraying water at Dreamcatcher.]
[Him recognizing her isn't a surprise; most of Paris does at this point. Him jumping right into the fray with a plan to help her? That's definitely different, and not exactly unwelcome when her usual partner isn't here to watch her back.
Still, a civilian? Ladybug feels a flash of worry before she remembers the costume and the confident way he's handling himself right now. Maybe another Miraculous user? There's no time to be distracted by her thoughts, though, not when he's giving her the time she needs to use--]
Lucky Charm!! [With a flash of light, a giant can of spray adhesive drops into her hands. Just a moment to think about it, and then Ladybug's grinning as the idea hits her. She swings over to Robin, landing beside him nimbly.] I'm going to take care of the sand. See that hourglass necklace she's wearing? Grab that if you can.
[She waits for that to sink in before she's swinging off again, this time toward Dreamcatcher.]
If I can...[It's muttered under his breath with a roll of his eyes. Still he steps back from the hydrant and gives her a sharp nod.]
On it. [He can see Ladybug's quick assessment of his presence and is relieved that she doesn't choose to protest it here and now. It means she isn't dumb enough to divide her focus with an enemy clear in sight and that's not something he can say for every other hero he's ever encountered unexpectedly. All it takes is one batarang aimed carefully and the necklace falls straight into his outstretched glove. He narrowly misses several streaks of sand in the process but he does get it.
Pendant in hand, his eyes swivel back to Ladybug to see how her progress is going with the sand.]
[While he's focused on getting the necklace, Ladybug uses her new weapon and counters Dreamcatcher's every sand attack with a generous spray of the heavy duty glue. Once she's done, Dreamcatcher's shouting in frustration as the sand sticks to her and everything around her instead of smoothly rushing toward passerby.
With a grin, Ladybug drops beside Damian again, yoyo in hand.]
I think we've got a few seconds before she just comes after us without the sand. Got the hourglass?
[In answer he tosses the hourglass her way, eyes watching her carefully. He's been watching her do battle long enough to know that this is the part where she has to do her weird magic glow-y thing. (Magic, honestly.)]
Thanks. [Ladybug catches the hourglass easily, then drops it to the ground and crushes it beneath one foot. A second later, a black butterfly escapes from the broken pendant, taking to the air. Ladybug wastes no time catching it within her yoyo and purifying it.
When she releases the butterfly again, it's a bright, clean white rather than the previous black. Ladybug watches it flutter away with a smile.] Bye bye, little butterfly. [The can of glue from her Lucky Charm gets tossed up next.] Miraculous Ladybug!
[Once the magic sweeps through the city, fixing the damage from the akuma's attack, Ladybug turns to Robin with a searching look.]
[If Damian had a normal childhood he would be mentally groaning at the idea of a magical yoyo. Thankfully (???) he did not in fact have anything remotely close to a normal childhood and Ladybug is saved from his scorn due to the fact that Damian has no idea what a yoyo is and only assumes her tool is some sort of modified weapon. He's snapped out of staring at it when she addresses him and he can't help a smug smile as he crosses his arms over his chest.]
Of course it was, I'm Robin. [Even knowing it will mean nothing to her, he can't help the pride in his tone.]
Robin... [Ladybug tests the name, a thoughtful look on her face. Her hand comes up to cup her cheek.
Robin is a type of bird...so a bird kwami? Though the outfit is a little surprising if that's the case. Especially when one considers how literal hers and Chat Noir's are.]
I didn't know there was another Miraculous user around... [Ladybug says slowly.] How long have you been here?

I'm not like you and that...the other one and I am not from anywhere near here. [Though his French is fairly well accented.]
I've only been in Paris for a month. [Before that, well, that's a long story.]

Not gonna argue with the protecting people part, but... you make it sound like you've been doing this for a while.
