Try to believe walking down the lonesome road

[With the start of their internships fast approaching, it's no wonder a good portion of the students in 1-A are too excited to properly concentrate during class. Aizawa, picking up on their lack of focus, eventually ends the class a few minutes early with a tired, exasperated sigh. Izuku grins guiltily at their teacher's retreating back. He can't exactly blame his classmates for distracted like this--picking their hero names and their first internship is pretty exciting. And a big step toward being pros.

Fidgeting with the bandages on his hands, Izuku turns in his seat and just happens to catch Todoroki's eyes. There's the barest flicker of hesitation before Izuku offers up a cheerful smile.] Todoroki-kun, have you already decided where you're going for your internship?

[The classroom's already emptying out, but there's no real need to hurry out like everyone else is. Besides, Izuku hasn't really gotten a chance to talk to Todoroki since the festival. Remembering how subdued Todoroki was during the medal ceremony has made it difficult for him to shake away his concerns. So Izuku gathers up his books slowly and waits for an answer.]

I don't know how much yarn she'll get through in a week.

Maybe three? That way there's not too much clutter if she doesn't use it all.

[inheritance]

[Izuku hums in agreement.]

How about another pastel and then something cream colored? It'll be easy for her to mix and match that way.

[glaciers]

[He'll pluck out a cream colored yarn.] Pick the last one.

After that we should get some books for her. Easy knitting should work.

[inheritance]

[After debating for a second, Izuku picks out a soft yellow to add to their yarn pile.]

That should do it! Oh, let's grab the needles while we're here, too.

[Thankfully, it's all in the same section! Izuku shuffles down the aisle to pull a pair of wooden ones from the display hook.]

[glaciers]

[He'll pick up a pair of metals ones before he realizes Midoriya's taken the wooden ones.]

Are those more comfortable?

[inheritance]

[Izuku leans right into Todoroki's space so he can hold the two pairs side by side for comparison.]

Nooo idea. [A pause, and then--] But I can consult the internet to find out.

[glaciers]

That would be great. It might be different for different people.

[But he'll lean over and wait for Midoriya to do the search.]

[inheritance]

[Searching for advice on his phone means letting go of Todoroki's hand, but it's for a good cause. A quick google search and some equally quick reading later, Izuku slips his phone back into his pocket.]

It says the wood ones are good for beginners, but it's all personal preference in the end. [Izuku tilts his head, regarding the needles again.] Should we get her both?

[glaciers]

[Shouto's already in Midoriya's personal space. It's fine to let go for a little while.]

Let's get both. Then she can try both kinds and decide which one she likes the most.

The books are a little further away.

[inheritance]

Both it is! [The needles join the yarn in the basket without further ado.]

Let's see... I think I saw the books on the other side of the store. [He starts wandering in that direction, but at a slower pace so he can have a look at the shelves they're passing by on the way there.]

[glaciers]

[He'll slip his hand back into Midoriya's as he just enjoys the walk.]

Do you want to take up sewing or something? While we're already here. Your clothes get destroyed a lot.

[inheritance]

[Izuku laughs, pausing to examine some frames that are painted in All Might's colors.]

I probably should. At least enough to fix the smaller rips.

[glaciers]

[He'll still so Midoriya can look at the frames.


... Isn't his room already full of stuff?]

We can try to learn together. If you want.

[inheritance]

[You can never have too many All Might things, Todoroki!]

You wouldn't mind learning with me? [Even if Izuku already enjoys learning new things, having Todoroki there would definitely make things a lot more fun.] We can pick up a book for ourselves, too!

[glaciers]

[Hm... Izuku is probably right... Because it's Izuku.]

I wouldn't. I lose a lot of clothes thanks to my fire half. So...

[That's not a minor patch job though.]

[inheritance]

[Izuku squints a little, looking concerned while he thinks along the same lines.]

That sounds more like something you can't fix with just a needle and thread, Todoroki... should we help you pick up some more shirts while we're looking for sweaters later?

[glaciers]

I try not to use my fire when I'm in civilian clothes.

[But his poor gym clothes though.]

[inheritance]

[Izuku hums.] So training clothes, then?

We could check if any of the stores around here has fireproof ones.

[glaciers]

Yes.

[He hums thoughtfully.]

If not I can try to order online. It's a specialty thing.

[inheritance]

We'll see what they have here. [And, apparently, he's decided that he doesn't need the All Might frames after all, so he's tugging Todoroki along after him toward the books.]

Oh, there's some Ryuu themed decorations. [Grinning, Izuku nudges Shouto as they pass by that particular shelf.] Think you could get away with a clock or something?

[glaciers]

[To the books they go, Shouto doesn't put up an once of resistance.]

Maybe a small clock?

[inheritance]

[Oops, time to backtrack a little. Okay, there!]

See anything you like? [Izuku practically bounces on his feet as he looks between the shelf and Shouto. He's not even shopping for himself right now, but there's something gratifying about helping Shouto add to his small hero collection when Endeavor had forbidden him anything of the sort since he was much younger.

There's a few interesting designs that immediately catch Izuku's eyes--like the round one that has the hero's dragon wings attached to its sides.]

[glaciers]

[While he probably can't display it too promenently, there's closet space in his room. He can definitely fit something small there, and it's not like his old man looks through that regularly.

... Besides, he doesn't have a bitter rivalry with Ryuku. It would probably survive.

Shouto reaches out for the one with the dragon wings. It's not very big and it needs batteries to work. That just means it can stay powered off in his closet for him to smile at and remember this outing.]

[inheritance]

[Izuku holds out the basket, beaming.] Just drop it in here. We'll get it with the rest of the stuff for your mom.

Now you'll have two Ryuku things in your room! [He's sounding just a little too gleeful about this.]

[glaciers]

[He'll place it in, more carefully than he really needs to.]
