Try to believe walking down the lonesome road

[With the start of their internships fast approaching, it's no wonder a good portion of the students in 1-A are too excited to properly concentrate during class. Aizawa, picking up on their lack of focus, eventually ends the class a few minutes early with a tired, exasperated sigh. Izuku grins guiltily at their teacher's retreating back. He can't exactly blame his classmates for distracted like this--picking their hero names and their first internship is pretty exciting. And a big step toward being pros.

Fidgeting with the bandages on his hands, Izuku turns in his seat and just happens to catch Todoroki's eyes. There's the barest flicker of hesitation before Izuku offers up a cheerful smile.] Todoroki-kun, have you already decided where you're going for your internship?

[The classroom's already emptying out, but there's no real need to hurry out like everyone else is. Besides, Izuku hasn't really gotten a chance to talk to Todoroki since the festival. Remembering how subdued Todoroki was during the medal ceremony has made it difficult for him to shake away his concerns. So Izuku gathers up his books slowly and waits for an answer.]

Mm... I'm a little jealous.

Alright, I'll keep you away from it today. [But only for today. He's going to buy that limited edition figurine for Izuku. He's sure he can just place an early order.]

[inheritance]

[Izuku gently squeezes Todoroki's hand, knowing his friend must be thinking of all the merch he had never been allowed to have.]

We'll get you your first All Might figure soon! I promised, remember?

[glaciers]

As soon as I get to move out.

[But he does squeeze Izuku's hand back.]

Anyway, let's go find some knitting stuff.

[inheritance]

Yeah! Let's go! [Tugging on his hand, Izuku guides them out of the station and into the shopping center with a bounce in his step.]

Let's see... we'll need the knitting needles, and maybe we should get several colors of yarn for her to choose from!

[glaciers]

[He likes this a lot, actually. Watching Izuku like this, cheerful and happy.]

We can find a lot of yarn, right? Maybe a book with knitting patterns in it too?

[inheritance]

I think the craft store should have everything we need.

[Despite his excitement, Izuku sets a leisurely sort of pace as they walk through the shopping center, not wanting it all to be over too fast. They might be here for Todoroki's mom, but Izuku wants to spend as much time as possible with him, too.]

[glaciers]

[Shouto's in no rush either. He doesn't meet his mother for a while and he likes being around Midoriya.]

After that... where do you want to go?

[inheritance]

Dunno! I think I'm set on school supplies for now, and you already know I'm staying away from the hero merch...

What about you, Todoroki? Anything you need to buy while we're here?

[glaciers]

I want a new coat or sweater. I can regulate, but they're cozy.

[He just likes being comfortable.]

[inheritance]

You like wearing sweaters? [Interest: piqued.]

Come to think of it, I guess I haven't really seen you or any of our classmates in casual clothes before. We're always meeting after school and everything.

[glaciers]

I like them a lot. I have a bunch of them at home.

Maybe I can get you something too.

[Let him... spoil Midoriya...]

[inheritance]

Me? [Todoroki, no! Izuku shakes his head.] I-it's okay, you don't need to get me anything!

[Hastily, he tugs them toward the shop that he spots up ahead.] Look, the craft store is right over there! [Very subtle.]

[glaciers]

Are you sure?

[But he lets himself get tugged along.]

They have a big selection.

[That's a little overwhelming.]

[inheritance]

That's good, isn't it? It means we'll definitely be able to find something your mom will like!

[There... definitely is a lot of yarn, though. Solid colors, alternating colors, even ones that are spotted... Izuku studies the shelves with a serious air.]

Any ideas?

[glaciers]

[There's so many of them... Hm.]

Seafoam? She likes lighter colors like that.

[inheritance]

So we should look at pastel colors?

[Seafoam, seafoam.... Izuku's scanning the many choices for seafoam and then aha! He plucks one that's a soft, light turquoise from the shelves.]

Ah... we should grab a basket if we're getting several of these!

[glaciers]

[He squeezes Izuku's hand, still reluctant to let go.]

Stay here, I'll get it.

[It only takes him a few minutes to leave and come back. But it's feels far too long for her.]

[inheritance]

[Izuku's still studying the yarn when Shouto returns, but he smiles, dropping the yarn into the basket when he's close enough.]

Thanks! [He slip his hand back into Shouto's again.] Sooo how many of these things are we getting for your mom?

[glaciers]

I don't know how much yarn she'll get through in a week.

Maybe three? That way there's not too much clutter if she doesn't use it all.

[inheritance]

[Izuku hums in agreement.]

How about another pastel and then something cream colored? It'll be easy for her to mix and match that way.

[glaciers]

[He'll pluck out a cream colored yarn.] Pick the last one.

After that we should get some books for her. Easy knitting should work.

[inheritance]

[After debating for a second, Izuku picks out a soft yellow to add to their yarn pile.]

That should do it! Oh, let's grab the needles while we're here, too.

[Thankfully, it's all in the same section! Izuku shuffles down the aisle to pull a pair of wooden ones from the display hook.]

[glaciers]

[He'll pick up a pair of metals ones before he realizes Midoriya's taken the wooden ones.]

Are those more comfortable?

[inheritance]

[Izuku leans right into Todoroki's space so he can hold the two pairs side by side for comparison.]

Nooo idea. [A pause, and then--] But I can consult the internet to find out.

[glaciers]

That would be great. It might be different for different people.

[But he'll lean over and wait for Midoriya to do the search.]
