He's so grateful to have friends who actually seem to care about him--first Uraraka and Iida, and now Todoroki. That's more than he'd dared to hope for when he first started at this school.
Izuku tries not to let his good mood waver, even when The Girl walks past their table, frowning at them on her way out of the cafeteria.
