Took a wrong turn somewhere (or is it right?)

[When Yuuri wakes up, he's greeted with a pounding headache, the likes of which he's never had before. Opening his eyes gets him an eyeful of cheerful sunlight that sends him whimpering back under the covers. He tries again a few minutes later, just managing to swing his legs over the side of the bed, wincing the whole time.

He freezes when he finally gets a good look at the room. This is...not his hotel room.

The shock is enough to temporarily push back the discomfort and make him jump to his feet. What happened? Where am I? he wonders, when he comes up empty handed after a quick search of the room for his belongings. One hand running through his hair as his panic steadily rises, Yuuri finally starts toward the door, intent on finding answers.]

Not a problem, sit down, tea is almost ready. [he'll point to his counter, where there was a phone with basically no screen.]

You threw your phone across the room last night and it shattered.

[yokunaru]

[That...is not the answer he was expecting. Yuuri gapes at him, thinking he must have heard wrong.]

I did what?

[wauuu]

[Victor just blinks at him, tea beginning to whistle behind him. He'll turn and grab it, pouring them both cups full as he answers]

It fell out of your pocket and when someone tried to hand it back, you just threw it!

Rather gleefully I might add. [but with literally no explanation]

[yokunaru]

[He sinks down into a chair, covering his face with his hands.] So much for calling my coach.

[He's also starting to get the feeling the rest of the night wasn't much better for his dignity. For one, he doesn't remember anything past the second flute of champagne and that's a bad sign. Yuuri peeks up at Victor through his fingers.]

Was I really that drunk?

[wauuu]

You don't remember that at all? That was pretty early. [he looks concerned, but goes about his little tea preparation. He gets a fresh lemon from the fridge and finds a knife, cutting it into fours, squeezing one into Yuri's cup. After that he'll grab some honey and put that in, stirring it with a delicate teaspoon before sliding it to Yuri]

What can you remember?

[Pretty early, he said. The foreboding feeling gets stronger.]

Thanks. [Yuuri says quietly, automatically curling his hands around the cup, though he doesn't drink yet.]

I...I just remember arriving at the banquet. I wasn't going to go at first, but Mr. Celestino insisted. [A frown flits across his lips as he tries to sift through muddled memories.] I remember the champagne. [He closes his eyes, suddenly looking pained.] A lot of champagne.

[wauuu]

You drank a lot! Do you remember talking to me? You were pretty drunk by then. [he'll get his own tea together]

You wandered up and I think you meant to introduce yourself, but instead you just said "I'm going to talk to Victor Nikiforov".

Which I thought was quite funny!

[yokunaru]

[Yuuri immediately pales. Logically, he knows he and Victor must have talked if he ended up here, but thinking of how ridiculous he must have been makes embarrassment flood through him again.]

I'm so sorry. [The words tumble out in a hurry.] I hope I didn't cause you too much trouble.

[wauuu]

It was a lot of fun, honestly! Those banquets are usually do tedious. Not sure why the venue had a stripper pole, but it got used. [Hahahaa]

[yokunaru]

[Yuuri, just about to lift the cup to his lips, chokes and nearly drops it in his shock.]

S-stripper pole?!

[Oh god, he's not joking, is he. Yuuri clutches at his cup like a lifeline. Whispering--] How many people saw?

[wauuu]

How many people saw? Or how many people took pictures? [He'll fish his phone from his pocket, pull up the photos of Chris and Yuri on the pole, and slide it over like he's presenting evidence at court.]

You really showed up Chris. Well, in my opinion. There's already a debate sparked.

[yokunaru]

[Something like a whine escapes him as soon as he gets a good look at the photos. It's even worse than he thought it could ever be.

Yuuri pushes the cup away and drops his head onto his folded arms, unable to even scroll through the rest of the incriminating photos.]

I'm never going out in public again.

[He's also never touching alcohol again, if this is what happens.]

Is that an application to my in-house maid? [He laughs, hoping Yuri knew he was kidding]

Don't worry about it, a scandal is more honestly a "career boost". Especially if you look good scandalized.

[yokunaru]

[The color comes rushing back to his cheeks, contrasting spectacularly with the paleness it had taken on just a few minutes ago. Yuuri practically springs to sit upright again in his chair, waving his hands in front of him in a panic.]

N-no! I wasn't--that's--! [The sputtering trails off when Yuuri realizes Victor was just joking.

There's an awkward pause.]

You really think this isn't a big deal? [One, it's a desperate attempt to change the subject. Two, he figures if anyone knows the answer, it's Victor, who's been in the spotlight for a long time now.]

[wauuu]

Not at all! Embrace the attention while it lasts. Your charms are irresistible. [He should know, he took you home knowing he wouldn't get sex out of it, he just wanted to spend more time with the man]

[yokunaru]

I don't want the attention. [Yuuri says under his breath. At least not this kind.

He finally sips at the tea, mostly to keep himself distracted, though his eyes flicker over to Viktor with no little amount of puzzlement.]

[wauuu]

Nothing much to do about it now. I wouldn't let it haunt you, even I have more revealing photos out there. [He posted most of them himself, after he realized he liked taking sexy photos far more than he liked them being private]

[yokunaru]

[But you're Victor Nikiforov, Yuuri wants to point out. Of course people don't mind seeing pictures like that when he's the one in it. Yuuri on the other hand...]

I guess that's true. You don't really hide much. [Yuuri doesn't even look surprised or scandalized about the pictures. It's almost like he knows what kind of content Victor has on his instagram. Hmmmmm.]

[wauuu]

Good, we're even then. I quite like those photos of you. Not all of them are half naked. [He'll take his phone back and switch to a photo of the two of them, dancing and looking... really quite happy together.]

I haven't been dipped like that before. Swept me right off my feet!

[yokunaru]

[Knowing exactly how he and his father got when they had alcohol in them, Yuuri had expected something embarrassing like the pole dancing, in the end. This picture, though, makes him sit up and pay attention in a way the others didn't. It takes him by surprise, how happy Victor looks while dancing with him, and Yuuri can only stare down at the picture wonderingly.]

We danced together. [An unhappy feeling curls in his gut, making his brows crease in distress.] I...I don't remember any of this.

[He honestly wishes he did now, even if it meant remembering the rest of the things he did that night, too.]

[wauuu]

Such a shame! The dancing was wonderful, the most fun I've ever had at a banquet. [If Yuri was really that level of blacked out that early, he really relieved they didn't fool around]

Last night aside, how are feeling now? You're welcome to stay as long as you need.

[yokunaru]

You really had fun? [The distress seems to slowly seep away, a small, but genuine smile replacing it instead. Though Yuuri can see Victor's smile caught right on the screen, part of him still has trouble believing that he could have made Victor feel that way without hearing the affirmation.]

Ah, I'm feeling better now. [He finally tears his eyes away from the picture on the phone, and keeps them on Victor instead.] I shouldn't stay too long... [He's looking honestly regretful as he forces the words out.] Mr. Celestino and I have a flight to catch in the morning.

[Another pause, this one resigned.] Do you have a phone I can use to call him? He's probably wondering where I am.

[wauuu]

Of course. You wouldn't be home with me if I didn't. [he'll sip his tea-- a flight in "the morning", huh?]

This morning? You've definitely already missed a flight, it's 1 p.m.

[that flight and Celestino could very well be gone]

[yokunaru]

[His eyes widen in horror. Somehow, despite knowing the time of his flight, Yuuri hadn't made the connection until Victor pointed it out.]

I-- [He doesn't even want to consider what that could mean for him.] I should check the hotel. Mr. Celestino wouldn't just leave... [There's a note of uncertainty in his voice. It's not like he has any similar experiences to draw from, after all.]

Do you remember the hotel? I didn't stay with the other skaters this year. [he has this place, after all. If Yuri can remember, Victor will be googling the name and giving them a call. Yuri shouldn't have to do it, he probably still had an awful headache]
